Communication Design
Clear communication through thoughtful design.
This section showcases promotional posters, infographics, brochures, and reports designed to deliver structured information in engaging and accessible ways — across both print and digital platforms.
1. HomeStars

Reno Report
A digital publication was designed with structured layouts and compelling visuals to help users navigate large amounts of information without losing interest. Key infographics followed brand guidelines while ensuring clarity and accessibility.
2. Research
-
Conducted a full content audit of the existing report
-
Referenced additional materials: CREA, Canadian City Reports, CBC, NYTimes, Global News
-
Studied UX patterns of public service websites: Service Canada, Ontario.ca, CREA
-
Researched real user behaviors and information needs via forums, Reddit, and FAQ sections
1. Problem Definition
The original Canada-wide renovation report was published in static PDF format, lacking accessibility and visual structure. The dense content and technical language made it difficult for the general public to understand or use. It also lacked mobile optimization and visual aids, creating major usability barriers.
3. Insights
-
The report needs a clear visual hierarchy and digestible structure
-
Users benefit from scannable visuals such as diagrams, icons, and summary blocks
-
Long-form text should be broken down into expandable summaries and modular sections
-
Friendly and conversational tone increases trust and accessibility for everyday citizens
4. Design Solutions
-
Reorganized content into a “summary-first” expandable layout (e.g., accordion/toggle sections)
-
Developed icon-based navigation for scannability and orientation
-
Designed separate user flows based on goals: applying for permits, planning renovations, researching market trends
-
Created responsive designs for both desktop and mobile formats
5. Outcome & Feedback
-
Final design supports both digital and printable formats
-
Hypothetical user testing (scenario-based) showed significant improvement in information discovery and comprehension
-
Can be applied as a future template for municipal or government document redesigns across Canada

Email Template
Email banners were created to match each campaign's message and tone, using abstract compositions to add visual interest while supporting readability.
